Today, at 1:00 p.m., Call 4 closed. 19 proposals have been submitted: 2 in the closed call, 17 in the open call. The next few weeks the International Advisory Panel will evaluate the proposals. Their input will be discussed in the beginning of November. The proposals will also be assessed by the National Advisory Panel. This will be in December. Mid December the Board will decide which proposals will be awarded.

On Thursday August 30, CLARIN-NL organized an information session about Call 4 at the Meertens Institute. Hans Bennis opened the meeting and placed CLARIN-NL in the broader context of digital initiatives in the Humanities. Sally Wyatt’s presentation about eHumanities within the KNAW nicely fitted in with Hans Bennis’ story. On Monday September 3, Steven Krauwer received a plaquette for the CLARIN ERIC . The plaquette confirms the EU status of the research infrastructure CLARIN. On Monday September 3, 2012 the establishment of CLARIN ERIC will be celebrated at Utrecht University. The ERIC status is an important boost for CLARIN. Thanks to this status, CLARIN is able to further develop its activities towards the construction of the CLARIN research infrastructure. During a festive meeting, Robert-Jan Smits, director-general DG Research and Innovation of the European Commission, will present a plaquette to Steven Krauwer, the director of CLARIN ERIC. The meeting precedes the Opening of the Academic Year 2012-2013.

CLARIN-NL Call 4 is open from today, Monday July 2, 2012. De call consists of two parts: an Open Call and a Closed Call. Open Call The Open Call is open from July 2, 2012. In 2012, CLARIN-NL will organize the 4th call for project proposals for demonstrator and curation projects. This will be the last call in the CLARIN-NL project! The call will be open from July 2, 2012 (with reservation). Project proposals will probably be due September 26, 2012. Awarded projects will be able to start between March 1 and April 1, 2013. The page now contains information about all phases a subproject will go through: after approval, start of the project, during the project and end of the project. All practical information and the relevant documents can be found on this page. If your project is about to finish, please consult the instructions for end reports and finalizing the project.

Almost a year ago, CLARIN-NL decided to produce 6 short movies about subprojects that have been carried out in CLARIN-NL. Dyzlo Film finished all the recordings and now they are finalizing the movies. The first 4 movies, MIMORE, SignLinC, Arthurian Fiction and Fries Woordenboek are ready and can now be found on YouTube. WIP and S&D will follow soon (19-06-2012). All films have Dutch, English and German Subtitles and can be seen here ! We hope you enjoy them.

Tuesday 6 of March there was a very succesful kick-off meeting at the Netherlands Institute of Sound and Vision. 13 just granted CLARIN-projects presented themselves. The great variety of projects showed the increasing impact of CLARIN on the humanities research. An interesting blog (in Dutch) about this meeting, can be found here .

Op vrijdag 2 maart is bekend geworden welke voorstellen in het kader van de Nationale Roadmap zijn gehonoreerd. De uitslag met betrekking tot ons CLARIAH voorstel is als volgt: CLARIAH is op de roadmap gezet CLARIAH krijgt echter NIET de gevraagde funding CLARIAH krijg wel 1 miljoen euro "zaaigeld" om in 2014 een nieuwe, verbeterde aanvraag in te kunnen dienen voor meer informatie zie hier en hier . De competitie was zeer zwaar. Er werden 37 voorstellen ingediend, 28 ervan zijn op de roadmap geplaatst, 5 ervan zijn gehonoreerd, en 3 (waaronder CLARIAH) hebben "zaaigeld" toegewezen gekregen...
